Hunt & Capture

Bagh Chal
tigers hunt · goats survive
A 5×5 asymmetric game from Nepal. Four tigers try to capture five goats by jumping over them. Twenty goats try to block all tiger moves. Two very different strategies.
Similar to Bagh Chal but played on a diagonal grid pattern. Three tigers face a larger flock of lambs. A South Asian classic with different board geometry and movement rules.
The game of the Vikings. The king must escape to a corner while the attackers try to surround and capture him. An asymmetric game of encirclement played across Scandinavia for 1000 years.
Jump pegs over each other to remove them from the board. Goal: leave just one peg in the centre hole. Looks simple, requires careful planning. A solo combinatorial classic.
Take turns removing objects from rows. Force your opponent to take the last one. One of the oldest combinatorial game theory problems — with a provably perfect strategy based on binary mathematics.
