Domino Shade Solver: rules, how to use it, tips

Shade exactly two squares in every region so the shaded squares form dominoes that never touch side to side.

The rules

  1. The grid is divided into regions.
  2. Shade exactly two squares in every region.
  3. Every shaded square shares a side with exactly one other shaded square — together they form a domino.
  4. A domino may lie inside one region or cross from one region into the next. Dominoes may touch at corners, but never along a side.

Using the solver

  1. Choose the size and draw the regions (or press Sample).
  2. Press Solve and step through: regions with few ways, dominoes that would touch, and pairs of regions together.
