The grid is covered by plates, each two squares long. Some are magnets โ one end positive (+), the other negative (โ) โ and the rest are blank.
Magnets push apart when like signs meet, so two + ends (or two โ ends) can never sit side by side across a squareโs edge. Corners are fine.
The numbers count the + ends in each row and column (left and top) and the โ ends (right and bottom). Rows and columns with zeros are the best way in.
Decide which plates are magnets and which way round they go: like signs never touch, and the numbers count the + and โ ends in each row and column.
