Sightlines Solver — Step by Step

Click a square and type its number (type two digits quickly for 10 and up). Then press Solve. Or play a generated puzzle and send it here with one click.

Sightlines Solver: rules, how to use it, tips

Shade some squares so every number sees exactly that many white squares along its row and column, counting itself.

The rules

  1. Squares with numbers stay white.
  2. A number counts the white squares visible from it — up, down, left and right — up to the first shaded square or the edge, including its own square.
  3. Shaded squares never share a side.
  4. All white squares are connected to each other through sides.

Using the solver

  1. Choose the size and type the numbers (or press Sample).
  2. Press Solve and step through: what each number must see, where its view must stop, and keeping the white squares joined.
