The grid has white squares and black squares. Fill every white square with a number from 1 to the grid size.
No number may repeat in a row or a column โ and a number shown in a black square counts too, so it canโt appear elsewhere in its row or column.
A compartment is a run of white squares across or down, ended by black squares or the edge. Each compartment must hold a straight: consecutive numbers such as 3, 4, 5 โ in any order. Two-square compartments are pairs like 6-7; a single square can be any number.
Fill white cells so no digit repeats in a row or column, and each white compartment forms a straight โ a set of consecutive numbers.

No. 7-5-6 is a valid straight: the digits only need to be consecutive as a set.
A digit printed in a black cell. It cannot appear in any white cell of that row or column.
Use the compartment calculator: set the grid size and compartment length and mark blocked digits.
