How to play Domino Shade

The grid is divided into regions. Shade exactly two squares in each one.

Every shaded square must touch exactly one other shaded square, so the shading is made of dominoes. A domino may lie inside one region or straddle two โ€” and two dominoes may meet at a corner but never along a side.

Small regions are the place to start: a region of two squares is a whole domino, and a region of three in a line has only two ways.

How to play Domino Shade

Shade exactly two squares in every region so the shaded squares form dominoes that never touch side to side.

The rules

  1. The grid is divided into regions.
  2. Shade exactly two squares in every region.
  3. Every shaded square shares a side with exactly one other shaded square โ€” together they form a domino.
  4. A domino may lie inside one region or cross from one region into the next. Dominoes may touch at corners, but never along a side.

  3. Squares break the rules turn red โ€” three shaded in a region, or a shaded square touching two others.
  4. Hint explains the next deduction โ€” regions that only fit one way, dominoes that would touch, and regions working together.
