How to play Dynamic Path
A maths question flashes up: find its answer on the grid and step onto it, building one connected path until every question is answered.
The rules
- Choose a maths topic — adding, times tables, fractions, percentages, unit conversions, factors, ratio and more (147 topics).
- A question flashes up at the top. Its answer is somewhere on the grid.
- You may only step to a cell that touches your last one — sideways, up, down or diagonally. Those cells glow.
- Tap the cell holding the right answer to extend your path. A wrong answer costs a life.
- Answer every question to complete the path.
Playing Dynamic Path on Puzzle Solvers
- Pick a maths topic, a grid size from 4×4 to 12×12, a difficulty, and how many lives you want. A timer is optional.
- Press Start Game. A question flashes up; tap its answer among the glowing cells that touch your last step.
- Each right answer extends your path. A wrong tap costs a life; Undo steps back and Hint gives a nudge.
- Answer every question to complete the path and see your time, score and accuracy.
A worked example
Topic: times tables. The question flashes '6 × 7 = ?'. Your last step was 18, and the glowing cells around it hold 12, 33, 42 and 27.
6 × 7 = 42, so tap 42. It joins your path, a new question appears, and the cells around 42 now glow.
Strategies
- Work it out first. Solve the question in your head before scanning the grid — then look only at the glowing cells.
- Accuracy first. Leave the timer off until you are confident — a wrong tap costs a life, so check before you tap.
- Start small. Begin on a 4×4 or 5×5 grid on Easy, then grow the grid and drop the lives as you get faster.
- Use Assist mode to learn. Assist mode shows the answer on the flash card — useful for a first look at a new topic.
Common mistakes
- Tapping a matching number that does not touch your last step — it must be a glowing cell.
- Rushing a two-step question (percentages, conversions) and picking the answer to the first step only.
Where it comes from
Dynamic Path was designed for this site as a flash-card drill on a grid, covering topics from the upper-primary and lower-secondary curriculum (UK Years 5–9).
Frequently asked questions
How many topics are there?
147, in groups such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, conversions, factors, LCM and HCF, sequences, statistics and probability.
What ages is it for?
Roughly 9 to 16. Easy topics on a small grid suit younger players; harder topics and big grids stretch older ones.
How is it different from Magic Path?
In Magic Path you find every number that fits one rule. In Dynamic Path each step answers a new question.
