A test of attention, memory and number sense in one. A set of numbers appears inside balloons, cards, stars, hexagons and other coloured shapes. You have a set time to study them โ then they vanish behind a blur, a smudge or covers, and the questions begin.
Some questions are pure memory: how many red objects were there, what number was in the top-right corner, which shape held the smallest number. Others need maths too: how many of the numbers were prime, what was the difference between the largest and smallest, how many were factors of 24.
At the end you get two scores, so you can see whether your strength is observation or reasoning. Every question is answered from the stored display, so there is always exactly one right answer.
Study numbers in coloured shapes for a short time, then answer surprise questions about them from memory.
The full guide, with a worked example and common mistakes: How to play Number Memory.
Observation & Memory counts questions about what you saw (counts, colours, shapes, positions); Mathematical reasoning counts questions that also need maths (primes, digits, sums, factors).
