Sudoku with shapes instead of numbers — a gentle way in for anyone who finds a page of digits off-putting. Every row, every column and every outlined box must contain each shape exactly once.
The 4×4 grid uses four shapes in 2×2 boxes; the 6×6 grid uses six shapes in boxes of two rows and three columns. The same two ideas solve them all: a square that can only be one shape, and a shape that can only go in one square of a row, column or box.
Once shapes feel easy, the same thinking carries straight over to number sudoku.
Fill the grid so every row, column and box has each shape exactly once.
