How to print Sudoku puzzles
- Open Sudoku and press ⬇ Download puzzles.
- Choose PDF, then how many puzzles you want — anything from 1 to 50.
- Pick the grid size (4×4 Mini, 6×6, 9×9 Classic or 12×12 Expert) and the difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard or Devilish).
- Choose one, two or four puzzles a page, A4 or US Letter, and whether to put the answers at the back.
- Press Download and print the PDF. Each puzzle has the rules printed above it.
Which size and level?
| Grid | Digits | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| 4×4 Mini | 1–4 | A first Sudoku — young children, or a two-minute warm-up |
| 6×6 | 1–6 | Learning the techniques with less to keep track of |
| 9×9 Classic | 1–9 | The standard puzzle, from Easy to Devilish |
| 12×12 Expert | 1–9, A–C | A long solve for experienced players |
Easy puzzles can be finished by looking for the one place a digit can go. Medium and Hard need pencil marks; Devilish needs the advanced techniques in the Sudoku techniques guide.
Solving on paper
- Use a pencil. Write small candidate digits in the corners of a square and rub them out as you rule them out.
- Scan one digit at a time. Pick a digit and check each box for the single square where it can go.
- Count what is missing. A row, column or box with only one or two empty squares is often the quickest win.
- Stuck? Enter the puzzle in the Sudoku Solver and step through the next deduction only.

Other puzzles you can print
Every game with a ⬇ Download button prints the same way:
Killer Sudoku
Sudoku rules plus cages: the digits in each dotted cage add up to its total and never repeat.
Calcudoku
Fill an N×N grid with 1 to N — no repeats in a row or column — so every cage hits its target using its operation.
Futoshiki
Fill a Latin square so each row and column holds 1 to N once, and every inequality sign is true.
Kakuro
A crossword with digits: each run of white cells adds up to its clue, using 1–9 without repeats.
Skyscrapers
Fill the grid with towers so every row and column holds each height once — and the edge clues count how many towers you can see.
Binary Puzzle
Fill the grid with 0s and 1s: never three the same in a row, half of each in every line, and no two rows or columns alike.
Number Blocks
Fill each block with 1 up to its size. The same number never touches itself — even diagonally. Simple rules, satisfying logic.
Nonogram
Classic picture logic: shade blocks from the number clues to uncover a hidden image — over 300 pictures, colour puzzles and random patterns.
Star Battle
Place stars so every row, column and coloured region has the same number — and no two stars touch, even diagonally. The classic behind today’s daily region puzzles.
Tents
Pitch one tent beside every tree so no two tents touch and every row and column has the right count. Friendly, calm and great for younger solvers.
Slitherlink
Join the dots into a single loop. Each number says how many of its square’s sides the loop uses — no crossings, no branches.
Bridges
Connect the islands with single or double bridges so each has as many as its number, and every island joins up. Visual, calm and very satisfying.
